Company Overview

The Medical Center of South Arkansas (MCSA) is a general acute-care hospital licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health to operate 166 beds. MCSA is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and employs 750 healthcare professionals and support personnel. More than 100 primary care and specialty physicians practice at MCSA. MCSA is a joint partnership between Triad Hospitals and the El Dorado based SHARE Foundation.

In 2006 MCSA opened the Women Center, located on the north side of the hospital. The 29,000 facility includes five labor-delivery-recovery rooms, twelve bed neonatal intensive care, a well baby nursery, fourteen bed postpartum, gynecology unit and multi-purpose classroom. The Women's Center will provide The Med Center with the ability to staff a modern, family focused program of women's services allowing management of high risk pregnancies and has on staff one of the only neonataologist in this area. The Women's Center and Promed Ambulance formed an alliance to transport babies to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

More recently the MCSA opened the new Heart & Vascular Institute of South Arkansas. It offers a special team of world-class heart care professionals, along with multi-million dollar facilities. This team of specialists consists of a cardiothoracic surgeon, two interventional cardiologists, a cardiovascular care physician and a cardiologist.

In addition to these new programs and services MCSA in a joint partnership with Arkansas Nephrology Services, has developed the Grove Medical Complex, a three story medical office building with over 40,000 square feet of rental space and parking for approximately 250. The nephrology practice and outpatient hemodialysis facility is located on the first floor's 15,000 square feet.
